Fun 4-Part Video Program on BMW's and K Bikes (don't miss)

Postby SHIVA on Mon Mar 17, 2008 10:48 am

From our friend Mike Werner of Bikes in the Fast Lane:

Turbo.Discovery.com has done a video series on BMW motorcycles. This 4 part video covers, history, heritage, design philosophy, production and assembly line overview. Also includes interviews with Dave Robb and BMW Mobile Tradition and shows the BMW factory and it's neighboring towns. A nice chunk has been devoted to the K bikes, including the new K12S and K12R. Don't miss it:

A great set of video clips - my only wish is that they were longer!

Very nice.....

Really enjoyed this so thanks for posting it! 8)

Ummm....did anybody else catch that they kept saying that the R puts out 167 horses? Thought it was 163....or am I missing a change somewhere. :P

Last I heard it was K1200S = 167.... K1200R = 163

they had a few facts wrong. then again, they are just journalists and this is not a factory sponsored video.

they said R has 167 which is wrong and the K bikes started in 85 which is also wrong.

For those in the UK who might want to get to Garmisch and Munich but have limited time...I did a trip there in 2006. Left the Uk morning of day one. Rode my bike to Stuttgart and then put it on the German overnight motortrain and disembarked in Munich at 7am the next day, so I was 1000 miles from home 24 hours after leaving my front door. Then rode home via Fussen (famous for the castle from Chitty Chitty bang bang), Garmisch and Colmar. Had a really good 6 day trip with great variety of roads and scenery.
