Okay after reading both your review, and few other. From someone who has ridden them what will be most COMFORTABLE on back and wrists for long range....they sem comparable in your writing. Ill tell you what my bike habits are.

I mostly zip short rids to work and school and such. Then weekends 100-200 mile runs for fun with people, and I plan on making 1k 2k and 3k trips this summer and spring time. I hat ecrusiers so I can't really bring myself to buy one....I really think its down to here, Do I get this k12r-sport for this deal...or look around for a k1200s. Look wise I love the naked version with the belly pan a little more than the k12s full fairing but ride wise is what I am concerned about...

get the K12R Sport and make sure you get the full discount on it... They are only a limited quantity of the K12R-S available, so pick one up if you can... and do get the belly pan... S

I don't see why I shouldn't get the full discount as it is brand new demo or not...anyone know of anything I can use to prove VIA BMW I should get that.

Hi Shiva,

When you tested the 2005/6 K1200S one of the comments you made was about the grips and that you would have replaced them if you had the bike permanently.
I have a 2005 KS and love it, but also feel I would like to put on new (aftermarket) grips. My bike has heated grips and I have been told that they can only be replaced by original BMW heated grips.......is this the only option.
Thanks,
Cedric.

I use Grip Puppies, have you heard of them. Cheap but good foam sleeves that cover the original grips. pls do a search for them on the site. lots of info. :)

Hello Shiva,

My bike was like your bike first, but I painted wheels. What you think?

the color combo looks good in your pics from what I can see. the yellow wheels give the bike a more sporty edge.

Looking back at the pics in this thread, the Granite Grey Metallic is such a classy color.

Greetings,
I recently purchased a slightly used 2007 K1200S from a dealer. The bike does have a 100 mile or so learning curve. I found the dual link front suspension to be alien having ridden liter Kawasakis for the past 10 years. Once the mind adapts to the "different" feedback, the bike invites you to put it through its paces. I am overjoyed at being on a sport bike for 4 hours without a break while still having feeling in my hands. I have no real complaints about the motorcycle, except, possibly, the loose shift feel.

Hi Carl,
Look in the "how to" posts in this forum and you will find quite a few suggestions for fixing the loose shifter.
I have done the mod to my K12S and it makes a big diff, does not cure it completely. Look also under "sloppy shifter".
Regards,
Sharkman.
