Help, Starter Relay or a Fuse ??

Postby rasprey on Tue Jul 20, 2010 9:08 am

I should be spending time looking for the problem myself but with four kids and work not easy to get time so I am looking for help to shortcut the time I take to find the issue.

I was charging the battery on my 1998 K12RS at the weekend and with the charger attached I stupidly turned on the ignition before I removed the charger. I did not attempt to start the bike with the charger on but went to disconnect the positive lead while the ignition was still on.

When I took the charger lead off I mangaged to touch it back on to the terminal by mistake and there was a big spark at the terminal and all dashboard lights went off and now nothing happens when I turn the ignition on and off.

I have checked the fuses under the seat and they all look ok.

Am I missing a big fuse somewhere or does it sound like I may have burned out a relay?

Any help would be appreciated
